Protection Order

From Conservapedia

A protection order (sometimes called a "restraining order") is an order issued by a court requiring a person, such as an alleged domestic abuser, to refrain from contacting or going near another person. A temporary protection order can usually be obtained pursuant to ex parte proceedings; a permanent protection order usually requires notice and a hearing, at which the allegations must be proven by a preponderance of the evidence. Phyllis Schlafly has criticized protection orders for allowing women to kick their husbands out of their home based on unverified allegations.[1]
