Almodad (Septuagint And Vulgate, Read El-Modad)

From Jewish Encyclopedia (1906)

Almodad (Septuagint And Vulgate, Read El-Modad):

The eldest son of Joktan (Gen. x. 26, I Chron. i. 20). The meaning of the name is uncertain. The first element, "Al," may be the Arabic article, and the second perhaps a corruption of "Maudad" ( see Joktan ).
