Uighur
From Britannica 11th Edition (1911) Uighur, or OUIGIIOUR, the name of a Turkish tribe and dynasty who came from the East and ruled in Kashgaria from the 10th to the 12th centuries. They used a variety of the Syriac alphabet. (See TURKS.)
