From Conservapedia

1.Spanish, English, then French

Correct.

2.His persistence, passion, and talent (ability to locate Haiti again)

Superb.

3.Laziness and lack of a government (laws), structure, and motivation

Good.

4.Religious freedom; the Puritans wanted freedom from people of other religions- the Pilgrims wanted religious freedom for all.

No, neither wanted freedom of religion for others. (Minus 2).

5.William Penn was given land that was all woods and created America’s greatest city, Philadelphia, on religious freedom for all

Superb.

6.Joint-stock colony- Virginia and Massachusetts Bay Charter colony- Connecticut and Rhode Island Proprietary colony- Maryland, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New York Royal colony- king took control over Virginia

Excellent.

7.Puritans: I believe that the Puritans were justified lawfully to exclude people of other religions from their colony because they set a law, warned them, and then took the necessary action to protect their freedom, but, morally and religiously speaking, they had no right to take human lives or not to share their religion with others.

Excellent.

H.1. I think that a colony based on a particular religion might have problems with other colonies who do not agree that with that religion (like the Puritans). Also, that colony might experience revolts from people within the colony, wishing to leave the religion or starting a heresy. They also might be so involved with their religion, they may not wish to trade with those of different beliefs, therefore leaving their colony alone and not as prosperous as it could be.

Good, though I doubt it would affect trade with others much.

H.2. The Massachusetts Bay Company promoted trade and colonization of New England. It was financed by a joint-stock company who invested in the colony and received wealth back if the colony did well.

Good, a bit more detail would be helpful. (Minus 1).

H.4. Mercantilism is the policy for a nation to send out more exports than imports to build up a surplus of wealth. The colonies were used to export raw materials and have the gold sent to the mother country. I do not think that mercantilism is a good idea because greed can easily become a problem (and is a problem).

Good, but not quite precise. See model answers once posted (Minus 1).
