Fredo Disco is an American rock band formed by lead singer Fredo Fosco. Starting out as a solo project, Fredo later recruited drummer Colin Riordan, bassist Aidan Cada, and guitarist Max King.[1]
Fredo Fosco started Fredo Disco in 2017 as a solo project. Fredo used many online music sites to upload his music, mainly Bandcamp and Soundcloud.[1][2] The band's name was the result of Fredo's phone auto-correcting his full name from Fredo Fosco to Fredo Disco.[3][4][5] After a few months of releasing individual songs mostly every week,[2] Fredo released 2 EPs, what a year and school spirit. Despite the lack of professional recording quality and being an overall amateur, Fredo garnered a lot of attention and fans.[5]
In 2018, a few of Fredo's friends, (Colin Riordan, Aidan Cada, and Max King,) joined Fredo Disco.[1][6] The band released Very Cool Music for Very Cool People later that year. In the first half of 2019, they re-released Very Cool Music for Very Cool People with a slightly different track listing and updating artwork. After restless touring throughout 2019 with Hot Mulligan, Fredo Disco released the (very cool) acoustic EP and the single never tell u, along with a music video for it. [6] During this time, they were also on tour with Have Mercy. In January of 2020, Fredo Disco released Harmony Korine (The Game), accompanied by a music video. Right before Fredo Disco's tour with Have Mercy ended, the band announced another tour with Hot Mulligan throughout early to mid 2020.
Newer Fredo Disco music is typically described as alt rock and indie rock with elements of pop punk and emo infused into it. [2] [4] However, Fredo Disco's older music is described as acoustic emo folk-punk. [1] [5]
