The Upper Paleolithic is the scientific term for the late Stone Age. It is considered by some scientists a period of time which occurred from about 40,000 BC to 8,000 BC, although the methods used to date artefacts from the Upper Paleolithic have been shown to be error-prone and unreliable.
Young-Earth creationists believe that there was no such thing as the Upper Paleolithic time period during which all peoples of the world had the same level of technology, but that primitive tools found at archaeological sites can be attributed to technologically less advanced tribes living alongside contemporaries with more sophisticated technology, just like today there are differences in how advanced different peoples are.[1]
