Lhasa

Lhasa (Chinese:拉萨, in Tibetic:ལྷ་ས།) is the capital city of the Tibet. It has a population of 223,001 inhabitants as of the 2000 Census.

Lhasa literally means "place of the gods".

With an height 11,450 ft above sea level Lhasa is one of the highest cities on Earth.

It is one of the home cities of the Tibet University.
