Stepson

Stepson [r]: In a family, when one or both parents have children by a previous marriage or relationship, a male child is the stepson of a parent, either a husband or a wife, who is not the biological father or mother, but who is known as the stepfather or stepmother. In many situations, the bond between a stepparent and stepson is not as strong as between a biological parent and son, since both persons may have been used to different expectations based on their experience with different people from the past marriage or relationship. ^[e]
