Santiago Rebull

Santiago Rebull (1829 - 1902) Mexican figure and portrait painter. Maximilian I gave him the title of "pintor de camara". He was also dean of the San Carlos Academy of Fine Arts. Rebull was contemporary with Felix Parra, José Salomé Pina and José María Velasco. One of his masterpieces is a portrait of Maximilian and Carlota.

José María Velasco and later Diego Rivera were his pupils at San Carlos.
