Khyber Pass

The Khyber Pass is an important break in the mountains between Pakistan and Afghanistan. It runs through both the Safed Koh and Hindi Kush mountain ranges.

It has been very influential throughout the course of history in its role as a part of military strategy. Alexander the Great, the Muslims, the Aryans, and the British all used the pass for military reasons. However, it has often proved difficult to penetrate owing to the defensive positions taken from above by local tribesman.
