New King James Version

From Conservapedia

The New King James Version is a translation of the Bible published by Thomas Nelson Publishers in 1982.[1] The preface describes it as a revision of the King James Version that follows Textus Receptus, the Greek text used by the translators of 1611.[2] Other modern translations use the Critical Text, which is based on older manuscripts.

However, NKJV does include numerous passages translated from the Critical Text in footnotes. As a result, the NKJV has earned the wrath of the King James only crowd.[3]

The NKJV is the translation used by the Home School Legal Defense Association in its magazine, The Home School Court Report. The translation is also commonly used within Church of Christ congregations.

Translation[edit]

The NKJV is based on the Textus Receptus God's preserved manuscript, like the KJV. But the NKJV has the Critical text in the footnotes and sometimes follows it. So it has been scored by the KJV-Only Movement The Critical Text is a perverted manuscript created by Satan and Catholics.

Sometimes, the NKJV translates wrong, like in Acts 4:27

For truly against Your holy Servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, were gathered together Acts 4:27 (NKJV) For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together Acts 4:27 (KJV)

But the NKJV did restore a verse on Christ's Divinity that the KJV deleted (Isaiah 54:13).

All your children shall be taught by the Lord, And great shall be the peace of your children. Isaiah 54:13 (NKJV) And all thy children shall be taught of the Lord; and great shall be the peace of thy children. Isaiah 54:13 (KJV)
