The Wadden Sea (Dutch: Waddenzee, German: Wattenmeer, Danish: Vadehavet) is a narrow sea between mainland Europe, at the coast of the Netherlands, Germany, and Denmark on one side and the Wadden Islands on the other. UNESCO designated the larger Wadden Sea tidal flat region, which includes the Wadden Sea area as well as two national parks in Germany, a World Heritage site.[1]
