Roy Kelton Orbison, Jr. (born 1970) is an American musician, music producer, film producer, author, and reality television personality. He is best known as the oldest child of American singer-songwriter Roy Orbison from his marriage to Barbara Orbison. Orbison is the co-founder of Roy’s Boys LLC, a record label that oversees his father’s music and estate.[1] He founded and manages the group with his two brothers, Alex Orbison and Wesley Orbison. Orbison is co-president with his brother Alex of Still Working Music Group, a music publishing company founded in 1990 by their mother, Barbara Orbison.[2] He is a co-writer with his brothers Alex and Wesley of his father’s biography, The Authorized Roy Orbison, published in 2017 by Center Street (publisher).[3][4] Orbison produced the films Roy Orbison: Mystery Girl - Unraveled (2014)[5] and Roy Orbison: Black and White Night 30 (2017). He appeared on the reality television show Below Deck Mediterranean.[6] Orbison co-produced Roy Orbison: The Ultimate Collection, released in 2016 on the Roy’s Boys label along with Sony Recordings. The album made it to #10 on the UK album charts,[7] and in 2017 it was certified Gold in the UK.[8] He co-produced A Love So Beautiful: Roy Orbison with The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, released in 2017 with Sony Music Legacy’s Recordings and achieving Platinum status in the UK in 2019.[9][10][11] He co-produced Unchained Melodies with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in 2018, also with Sony’s Legacy Recordings, achieving Gold status in the UK the same year.[12][13] Orbison performed guitar on the album along with instrumental backing by his brothers on both A Love So Beautiful and Unchained Melodies.[9][14]
