Macarthur Fellowship

From Conservapedia

The MacArthur Fellowship, dubbed the "genius grant" by the media, is an annual six-figure cash prize supposedly given for creative genius and future achievement but, in fact, awarded to a collection of politically correct or outright liberal recipients.

There have been over 731 recipients of this award, none of whom can be identified as conservatives and very few, or none, of whom made an extraordinary contribution after receiving the award. Most of the names and works of recipients reflect either complete obscurity or the liberal bias of the selection committee. For example, evolution, arms control, environmentalism, abortion rights,[1] and the liberal media receive a disproportionate share of the awards.

None of this is what the original sponsor of the award, John D. MacArthur, would have intended.
