Cape Town (Afrikaans: Kaapstad /ˈkɑːpstɑt/; Xhosa: iKapa) is a city in the Western Cape, South Africa. Cape Town is the legislative capital of South Africa and has a famous harbor at the southern tip of Africa, an important resting point for ships travelling around the Cape of Good Hope before the construction of the Suez Canal. Cape Town remains a port of call for many, as a popular tourist city in South Africa with attractions such as Table Mountain and floral gardens. The Population is approximately 2.7 million,[1] making it the third largest city in South Africa after Johannesburg and Durban.
