Down is a product made from duck, swan or goose feathers. It can be used to make feather boas, necklaces, blankets, pillows, stuffed animals, and other related products. Similarly to fur, leather, wool, and silk, many liberals protest against it. It also tends to be very expensive much like the other four previously mentioned animal-based products. Therefore, many upper class people in North America, Europe, and some countries of Asia have been knowing for wearing down as well as fur, leather, wool, and silk.
"Down" is also the opposite of the direction, "up".
