Old Dominion University is a Virginia public university founded in 1969.[2] It was ranked a third tier school in US News's 2008 "National Universities: Tier 3" list.[3] The University started out as the Norfolk Division of the College of William and Mary in 1930; and then became an independent institution in 1962.[2]
