Andes

The Andes are a chain of mountains located in South America that stretch over 5500 miles along the Pacific coast. The Andes are second only to the Himalayas in size and average elevation.

Limestone deposits have been found in this mountain range, which serves as strong evidence that these mountains used to be underwater. Flood geology could account for the presence of this limestone.

The Andes mountain range has been home to people for centuries, including the Incas. After the Spanish conquest most of these peoples were driven or bred out. However, some high mountain tribes still live in the area and still speak the same languages they have for centuries.
