A globe is a spherical representation of a celestial body. Usually, the term "globe" refers to a representation of Earth. The term comes from the Latin term globus, which means "sphere". A globe is a more accurate way of representing the Earth than traditional maps, due to the inevitable distortions that in two-dimensional representations.
