From Conservapedia Angle's first elected office was the Nye County School Board of Trustees in 1990. After her election in 1998, Angle rose to become Minority Whip in the Nevada Legislature. She narrowly lost a campaign for the Republican nomination for Congress to Nevada Secretary of State Dean Heller by just 428 votes.
Sharron Angle was the Republican nominee for U.S. Senate, challenging Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid in the 2010 Midterm Elections. Angle's candidacy for Senate surged after the endorsement from the Tea Party Express and Sarah Palin, and defeated former State Senator Sue Lowden and businessman Danny Tarkanian in the Republican primary. After being defeated in the general election against Reid, Angle announced in March 2011 that she will run for Congress in Nevada's open 2nd congressionanal district.
