Albury is a city in New South Wales, Australia. It is on the north bank of the Murray River, the boundary between NSW and the state of Victoria. The current mayor is Henk van de Ven, who is left-leaning. The city was traditionally conservative but is becoming more liberal in recent times. The town is supposedly named after a town in Surrey, Britain and it is a centre for commerce in the Riverina region.
