Anjali Appadurai

Anjali Appadurai is a Canadian climate activist and politician serving as the Climate Justice Lead for the Sierra Club BC and an Organizer for the Climate Emergency Unit. She founded the Padma Center for Climate Justice. She was the NDP candidate for the Vancouver Granville riding during the 2021 Canadian federal election^{[1] [2]}

Policy[edit]

• Appadurai has criticized John Horgan on his Fairy Creek old-growth logging actions saying “I believe in the values of the [NDP], and this is out of line with those values”.
• Appadurai has been a strong supporter of Universal Pharmacare.
• Appadurai believes immediate action must be taken on the housing unaffordability. She supports building more affordable units and increasing the Home Buyer’s Tax Credit.
• Appadurai supports limiting barriers to post secondary education.^[3][4][5]
