United Church Of Christ

From Conservapedia

Not to be confused with the non-denominational Churches of Christ.

The United Church of Christ, or UCC, is a Protestant denomination of Christianity. It was formed in 1954 out of a union of the Congregational Christian Churches and the Evangelical and Reformed Church.[1]

It is one of the Mainline Protestant denominations.

The national settings of the UCC have historically favored liberal views on social issues, such as civil rights, the homosexual agenda, feminism, and abortion. However, United Church of Christ congregations are independent in matters of doctrine and ministry and may not necessarily support the national body's theological or moral stances. It is self-described as "an extremely pluralistic and diverse denomination".
