Fischer Random Chess

From Conservapedia

Fischer Random Chess, also known as Chess960 due to the 960 different possible opening positions, is an officially recognized style of chess invented by Bobby Fischer, in which the game begins with a somewhat random positioning of the pieces on the board.

The World Fischer Random Chess Championship 2019 features the top players worldwide, playing for improvement in their chess rankings an a prize of $375,000 (USD).[1]

This style is thought to reduce advantages resulting from memorizing opening positions.

In September 2020, prior long-reigning world champion Garry Kasparov fought to a draw with current world champion Magnus Carlsen in a tournament of Fischer Random Chess.
