Vardar (River)

The Vardar River (Macedonian:Вардар), also known as the Axios (Greek: Αξιός) or Axius[1] is a notable river being 389km long running from Central modern Macedonia and her capital city Skopje, into northern Greece. Whereupon it empties itself into the Thermaic Gulf of the Aegean Sea a little to the west of Thessalonica with the Gallikos in-between.
