An effort to recall Bob Parker from his elected position on the school board of the Howell School District was launched in November 2011 and ultimately resulted in Parker resigning from his seat.[1] Parker formerly served as the mayor of Howell. When he resigned from the school board, he was in the midst of serving his first term.
Background[edit]
Parker was faced with allegations of sexual harassment from one student and two teachers. Parker has also been investigated for soliciting sex for money. On November 10th, school board president Ann Routt asked Parker to resign. Board members Ed Literski, Kim Witt and Mike Witt also called for Parker to resign. When Parker initially did not step down, local attorney Lyle Dickson filed a recall petition.[2]
