Urology is a branch of medicine that deals with issues of the male and female urinary tract and urogenital system.[1] The organs involveld in urology are the urinary bladder, urethra, ureters, kidneys and male reproductive organs; which include the prostate, testes, epididymus, vas deferens, seminal vesicles and penis.
A cystoscopy is the most common procedure performed by urologists. During this procedure the doctor is able to see the inside urinary tract, including the urethra, prostate, urinary bladder, ureters and kidneys through a scope. By looking inside the urinary tract, the urologist is able to diagnose any issues he sees and then recommend appropriate treatments.
A urologist can treat many urological conditions with a number of different medicines, treatments, and surgical procedures.
Urologists mostly use X-ray systems for diagnostics and surgery.
