From Ballotpedia Two Village of Midlothian and City of Hometown Home Rule Government propositions were on the February 2 ballot in Cook County for those voters in their respective areas.
The Midlothian measure was approved
The Hometown City measure was defeated
The Village of Midlothian measure sought to allow the village to become a home rule unit, giving them the powers that it would entail.
The Hometown City measure sought to also become a home rule unit of government.[2]
