She is a bulk carrier, at 75 ft (22.86 m) wide and 730 ft (222.5 m) long, she is built to the maximum dimensions of the St Lawrence Seaway locks.
Her capacity is 28,000 tonnes.
She normally carries grain, but occasionally carries ore.

Skip Gillham. End nears for former 'Santa Claus ship', Niagara This Week, 2013-11-21. “When Upper Lakes sold their fleet in 2011, this ship joined the Algoma Central Corp. It was renamed Algoma Quebecois for its final season of 2012. The ship tied up at Hamilton in December 2012, towed to Toronto on June 12, 2013, and left there on Nov. 19 for its final voyage. It is shown about to enter Lock 1 on Nov. 20.”
