Reactos

ReactOS[1] is a computer operating system first released in 1998[2]. Written mainly in C and C++,[3] it was originally based on Windows, although reportedly built essentially from scratch. It is intended to provide a user experience similar to Microsoft Windows, with support for software and drivers which are intended for Windows.[4] Although ReactOS is not identical to any version of Windows, it was initially designed to be most similar to Windows95; the developers then look to see what can be added on, such as features which were added to Windows XP.[5] However, unlike Windows, the platform is free (both free to use and free to modify) and uses open source code.[6]
