Recall reports

An effort to recall Ben Clark from his position on the Fremont School Board in Fremont County, Idaho, was launched in June 2012.[1] The recall effort was abandoned short of going to election.[2] Clark represents Zone 1. Clark was appointed to the school board in 2011 after no one else volunteered for the job. Clark's fellow board member Phil Baker also survived a recall attempt.

Reasons for recall[edit]

Julianne Hill filed the recall petition. The recall effort stemmed from criticism of how Clark handled a $2.4 million supplemental levy election that failed at the polls. Hill was a supporter of the levy, which was rejected by voters.[3] The petition against Harris stated that he had "repeatedly shown he is not representing the goals and desires of his constituents."[1]

Path to the ballot[edit]

Recall organizers needed to gather 241 signatures by August 14 in order to force a recall election.[1] Recall organizers were unable to gather enough signatures, and the recall effort was abandoned.[2]
