Game Boy Color

From Conservapedia

The Game Boy Color is a handheld game console manufactured and released by Nintendo in 1998. It is the successor of the Game Boy, although their technical specifications are largely similar because the Game Boy Color's main marketing point was that games specifically released for it are displayed in full color 8-bit graphics, kind of like the Nintendo Entertainment System but with a wider color palette. The Game Boy Color's run was short-lived, as it would be succeeded by the Game Boy Advance in 2001.

Some Game Boy Color games were released on black cartridges reminiscent of original Game Boy cartridges, especially earlier releases such as Tetris DX and The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX (both of which were launch titles, which are games released on the same day as a console). Games on these cartridges had dual compatibility with original Game Boy units as well. Certain games such as The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX allowed the player to carry over their save data from a Game Boy Color to a Game Boy and vice versa, but on the contrary, games such as Conker's Pocket Tales would require players to erase their save data if they were to transfer gameplay over from a Game Boy Color to a Game Boy or vice versa.
