Alexander Nevskii

Alexander Nevskii (1220 to 1263 A.D.) was the Prince of Novgorod ruling from 1236 to 1263. He submitted to the invading Mongols in 1240 and then received recognition as the leader of the Russian princes under the Golden Horde.
