A director is the person in charge of a performance event; shaping the overall meaning, intention and structure of a performance. They are most commonly found in theater, television and film. In film making, the director is the person who guides the actors and decides how scenes will be shot. Famous film directors include Steven Spielberg and Alfred Hitchcock.
