Education[edit]
English received his undergraduate degree from the University of Toledo and his J.D. from the University of Toledo College of Law in 2000.[1]
Career[edit]
Prior to his election to the bench, English served as an assistant prosecuting attorney for the Lucas County Prosecutor's Office. He previously worked as an attorney in private practice.[1][2]

Primary: He was successful in the Democratic primary on May 6, 2014, receiving 46.1 percent of the vote. He competed against Laura Restivo and Richard L. Roberts.
General: He defeated Mark Davis in the general election on November 4, 2014, receiving 52.3 percent of the vote.
