Motagaon is a small village of 1418 hectares in Ghatol Tehsil in Banswara district, also known as City of Hundred Islands in the State of Rajasthan, India.^[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Motagaon depends on Banswara, the nearest town for all major economic activities.^[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 5.16% of the total supply, One tank, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - One river, One canal and Two springs. Motagaon is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Motagaon's pin code is 327021^[4], and village code is 03379600. The area of Motagaon is segregated as 273.22 hectares irrigated area, 546.82 hectares unirrigated, the 155.2 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 443.22 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Motagaon is a census village in the district of Banswara, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 4548 and has total administration over 1008 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

• Motagaon has 654 children, 343 boys and 311 girls.
• Scheduled caste counts for 319 (7.01%) males constitute 171 (3.76%) of the population and females 148 (3.25%).
• Scheduled tribe counts for 1869 (41.09%) males constitute 930 (20.45%) of the population and females 939 (20.65%).

According to a census 2011 report, 2381 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 1249 male, 1132 female with 1773 (74.46%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 1103 males and 670 females. 813 males and 344 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 75 male and 260 female agricultural labor. 608 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Banswara to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
