Mazda

Mazda is a Japanese car company. It came into being in 1920 as the Toyo Cork Kogyo Co., Ltd, in Hiroshima, Japan. Initially, it produced machining tools, but began producing automobiles in the 1930s. It began exporting cars to the US in 1970.^[1] They have used some unusual engineering features over the years such as Wankel rotary engines. Common complaints about Mazda vehicles are low power, high fuel consumption and terrible reliability. These days, their line up consists of econoboxes, the Wankel powered RX-8 and the MX-5 which used to be called the Miata, this car has a known following in the homosexual and ricer community.^[2]

The Mazda RX-8 had a Wankel engine and was sold for decades until 2012.
