American History Homework 2 BenjaminH

1. The Stamp act, large amounts of British troops going around the colonies, and England taking everything of theirs away, gunpowder, weapons.

Superb.

2. The Colonies made that there motto because they were not being represented in parliament. It was just a bunch of people who were not for the colonies that made all the laws.

Good. Note: "their", not "there".

3. The Boston Tea Party was another act of rebellion. A bunch of men lead by Paul Revere, Sam Adams, and others dressed up like Indians went to the Boston Harbor and dumped all of the tea that was sitting in the ships.

Good, but you could explain a bit more about the cause of this act of rebellion. (Minus 1).

4. I don’t know if its just a myth but from what I’ve heard, a slave, or servant said something to a bunch of girls about how in her country spirits would come into people, so the girls started acting like that. So if that is true I would blame the slave women.

Good.

5. False. Rhode Island was started for religious reasons but ended up have the most slave control and was the first to officially rebel from England.

Excellent!

6. I think that England should have been able to Tax them a little bit, but the colonies should have had members in parliament that were speaking for them. But no. I don’t think they should have been able to put as many taxes as they did.

Good.

7. Each part of the snake represents a colony, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Mary land, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, New England. And it means join or die, so you would either join and become a nation or you would die from the British.

Good, but need an answer to the question about the time period. (Minus 1).

Honor Questions

H2. The British decided to tax the colonies after the French and Indian war because they had a big dept to pay and England was already paying enough taxes. So they decided to tax the things the colonies used the most. I think it was not right for them to tax them as much as they did. Yes they should be able to tax them because they were the government but they shouldn’t be able to tax them as much as they did once William Pitt left the parliament.

Well done.

H3. Where did the American Indians come from? Well its quite simple. After Noah’s flood everyone on the earth was destroyed besides Noah and his family. So after the flood Noahs family grew and grew, to be everyone on the earth. Somewhere in between the end of the flood and before Columbus people found America and made it there home.

Good. Note: it's, not "its", and Noah's, not "Noahs".

H4. The key difference between America and England is that America is free. America didn’t have taxes until after the French and Indian war. England had taxes for a long time before that. Our economy was larger and in America it wasn’t illegal to make tobacco and sell it. Over in England it was, so right there America had a monopoly crop. Also once England put the tax on tea almost everyone switched to coffee while to this day England still favors tea.

Good.
Overall, well done! 98/100.--Aschlafly 09:41, 29 September 2008 (EDT)
