A confidential relationship is a relation of parties in which one is bound to act for the benefit of the other and can take no advantage to himself from his acts relating to the interest of the other.

Mere confidence or implicit faith in another's honesty and integrity is not sufficient to constitute a fiduciary or confidential relationship. Mere friendly relations are also insufficient for this purpose."[1]

It is similar to the fiduciary relationship.
