Joycelyn Elders

From Conservapedia

Minnie Joycelyn Elders (known more commonly as Joycelyn Elders) was the Surgeon General during the Clinton administration. She was the first African-American Surgeon General and only the second woman.

Elder's policies towards sex education were highly liberal and ultimately led to her severe unpopularity. She supported the use of contraceptives and wanted to legalize marijuana. Her most brazen act was to suggest self-abuse as a component of abstinence education. The outcry from the American public was so loud that it finally penetrated the liberal ears of Bill Clinton, and he fired her in December 1994, citing a "disagreement in policy".
