The Treaty of Brest-Litvosk was successfully negotiated in early 1918 by Leon Trotsky for communist Russia to end its involvement in World War I. It attained between between it (and the Ukrainian Republic) and the Central Powers.

The Ukranian Republic concluded their peace treaty on Feb. 9, 1918, and Soviet Russia on March 3, 1918.
