Toyota Motor Corporation is a Japanese automobile manufacturing company founded in 1935. In 1957 Toyota started importing vehicles to the United States, and by 1972 began manufacturing operations in the United States. By 2007 they directly employ more than 34,000 at 10 vehicle and assembly plants.[1]
In part Toyota maintains lower prices than American manufacturers because they do not employ unionized workers, there is no legacy cost on their vehicles, and a lower exchange rate between US Dollars and Japanese yen.
Toyota sells more Hybrid electric vehicles vehicles than any other automobile manufacturer, although they also sell large SUV and pickup trucks. The advantages of hybrid vehicles has also been questioned by those in the automotive media with lower fuel efficiency than advertised, and having questionable battery life and cheap quality at for the vehicles expensive prices. They also are unsafe with danger of electrocution after an accident and they produce harmful electromagnetic radiation which can give you cancer. Toyota Priuses are very common among the liberal and homosexual community as they easily fall for the marketing hype and false claims that the cars are good for the environment.
