Ouachita Baptist University

From Conservapedia

Ouachita Baptist University (OBU) is a private university supported by the Arkansas Baptist State Convention, the state arm of the Southern Baptist Convention. It is located in Arkadelphia, Arkansas and is named for the Ouachita River which borders the campus on its eastern side.

The Convention authorized OBU's opening in November 1885, selected Arkadelphia as the location in April 1886 and began holding classes in September of that year. In an era where many colleges opened and closed, and changed operators, OBU is one of the few that has not relocated or changed management since its opening.

Former Arkansas Governor and Presidential candidate Mike Huckabee, and his daughter Sarah Huckabee Sanders, are both notable alumni (the university's School of Education was renamed the Michael D. Huckabee School of Education in his honor).
