Hastam is a small village of 729 hectares in Atarra Tehsil in Banda district in the State of Uttar Pradesh, India.^[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Hastam depends on Atarra (MB), the nearest town for all major economic activities.^[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One Well supply and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tap. Hastam's pin code is 210120^[4], and village code is 04822300. The area of Hastam is segregated as 405 hectares irrigated area, 232 hectares unirrigated area. the 4 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves) and remaining 57 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Hastam is a census village in the district of Banda, Uttar Pradesh. The village has a total population of 3714 and has total administration over 674 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

• Scheduled caste counts for 2010 (54.12%) males constitute 1044 (28.11%) of the population and females 966 (26.01%).

The workforce is 1029 male, 496 female with 1244 (81.57%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 915 males and 329 females. 369 males and 47 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 368 male and 250 female agricultural labor. 281 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Atarra (MB) and Banda to sell jaggery and make their living.
