Marquise Hill was a National Football League defense end for the New England Patriots. On the night of May 27, 2006, Hill was involved in a jet ski crash on Lake Pontchartrain in New Orleans, Louisiana, the city where he was born, and apparently drowned some time after the incident. According to reports, Hill saved the life the other individual involved in the incident, a female friend of Hill, before he drowned. He was 24 years old.

High School Football Career[edit]

Hill attended De La Salle High School in Louisiana, New Orleans. In his senior season, he was rated by some as being the best defense lineman in the country. That year, he had 92 tackles and 8 sacks.

College career[edit]

Marquise Hill attended Louisianian State University and played defensive end for the Tigers, LUS's college football team. In his 38 games he played with the LSU Tigers, Hill made 117 tackles, 10 sacks, a fumble recovery, two forced fumbles, and an interception. He was a key part of the 2004 team that won the 2004 BCS National Championship.

NFL Career[edit]

Marquise Hill was drafted in the second round of the 2004 NFL Draft by the New England Patriots. In his three years with the Patriots, Hill only appeared in thirteen games and made three total tackles due mostly to the fact that much of his NFL career was spent rehabilitating from numerous injuries.
