Aphelion eSports (AE) is an North American based professional gaming, esports, and creative organization based out of Massachusetts. Their primary focus is on mobile gaming, with PC gaming as a sub-focus. It was founded in 2019 by Matthew "MacSauce" O'Toole, "Staple", "Levels", "Jax", and "Ninja". Aphelion eSports currently fields esports teams in Brawl Stars, Clash of Clans, Call of Duty: Mobile, League of Legends: Wild Rift, and PUBG Mobile. They also have a roster of a variety of content creators that cover a number of games, regions, and topics.
In August, Aphelion eSports was founded as the original members left another organization. From the start they entered Brawl Stars, Fortnite|Fortnite Mobile, and Call of Duty: Mobile. In the remaining months of the year, Aphelion then entered Clash of Clans and Clash Royale.
In February, the Aphelion eSports Clash of Clans team qualified for the Clash of Clans World Championship 2020 February Qualifier and earned a ticket to play live the next month in Katowice|Katowice, Poland by reaching the Top 4 of the ESL Play Pre-Qualifier.[1] Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the live event in Poland was cancelled and the Qualifier was pushed back and finally played online in June.[2]
In October, Aphelion eSports brought on their first official partner in UMG Truck MA.[3] In the remaining months of the year, they then picked up the European Call of Duty: Mobile team Cold Esports, fresh off their 2nd Place finish in Stage 4 of the Call of Duty Mobile 2020 World Championship.[4] That was then followed up by the signing of the European Clash of Clans team formerly with Qlash.
In January, Aphelion eSports acquired fellow North American gaming and esports organization Team Clovers. Later that month, Aphelion signed an upcoming North American Brawl Stars team featuring the players Slash, Zhar, Squashy, and Skywalker.[5]
In March, Aphelion eSports expanded their coverage in Brawl Stars by signing the Latam South team CYP fresh off of winning the March Monthly Finals of Brawl Stars Championship 2021.[6] Later that month, Aphelion entered the PUBG Mobile scene with the signing of Segment X featuring the players Kingeh, Enigma, Slapped, LoLo, Prophecy, and Valic, qualifying them into the PUBGM Pro League Spring Split 2021.
In June, the Aphelion eSports European Clash of Clans roster expired and they chose not to re-sign. Later that month, Aphelion signs the Asian Clash of Clans roster formerly known as M2 Ninja consisting of Shoya, SIO, Barsan, Garakuta, Kazuma, and Choco to finish out the competitive season.[7]
