Twister

From Conservapedia

Twister (1996) is an immensely popular movie about a couple tracking tornadoes while also dealing with a husband's desire to divorce. The movie is surprisingly even-handed in its portrayal of the husband and wife.

The wife, played by Helen Hunt, wants her unfaithful husband back and that is politically incorrect, so despite the tremendous acting this movie received no Academy Award nominations in top categories. Instead, liberals tried to embarrass it with a "Razzie Award" for "Worst Written Film Grossing Over $100 Million."[1]

This movie is also politically incorrect in how the ex-husband saves his ex-wife and protects her from danger, as she tries to win him back.

This movie is favorable to small, enterprising inventors, and contains priceless mockery of media wannabes and sellouts to corporate funding. The movie is also a bit of a tribute to small-town, rural, midwestern America.

Probably because the movie has strongly conservative theme to it -- it's pro-marriage -- it has declined in recent years in its rating on the internet. But it was ahead of its time in anticipating the success of the Weather Channel in reporting on storms.

Many of the special effects in this movie, such as the the falling hail, were done on the movie set as realistically as possible, and the actors found it grueling to deal with.[2]
