Dick Anthony Heller

Dick Anthony Heller is a Special Police Officer in the District of Columbia, (an armed security guard). He recently sued the District of Columbia because they wouldn't allow him to keep a handgun in his home. This case is now the Supreme Court case District of Columbia v. Heller, deciding whether Congress is able to regulate firearms, or even ban individuals from owning them.

Mr. Heller is 65 years old, and owns various guns leagally outside Wasington D.C. When he asked the District if he could have a gun in his house for self-defense, they rejected him, and that's when he sued them. Whether the Freedom to Bear will be upheld is yet to be seen.
