Liquid Crystal Display

A liquid crystal display (LCD) is a type of nonemissive flat panel display technology which produces images by modulating ambient light. The ambient light can be reflected or transmitted light from a secondary, external source (e.g., a backlight). This kind of display is very popular, and can be found in almost anything with an integrated electronic screen, from a wristwatch to a car radio. Theses are also very common in flatscreen televisions and computer monitors.^[1]
