Apollyon

Apollyon is described in the Book of Revelation chapter 9 as the King of the Abyss, Abaddon. He is the head of the demons that will be released in the End Times to torment unbelievers. In John Bunyan's allegorical tale The Pilgrim's Progress, he is a hideous beast that attacks Christian on his way to the Celestial City, and ends up with a mortal blow to the chest.
